Hmm, yes that's true, though it is just 35 GBP p.a. for me, so I would bite that bullet for the ease of use it offers.
I think this has the edge over others and they know it, so are wanting to monetise that. Can't blame them I guess.

Currently, only object transform animation is supported.
We are exploring ways in which we might support deformations sometime in the future.

      Kind regards,

Ok thanks. I thought so but wanted to check before trying things unnecessarily

Support for animated (mesh) V-Ray proxies at least would be very useful.

Are you using that with .vrmesh files or Alembic files ?

Either, I guess... I have some geometry animated using PolyFX (with changing vertex count). I figured that wouldn't work in Vantage, so I cached it as a .vrmesh, which animates correctly in 3ds Max Viewport, but that didn't come into Vantage. BTW, is it possible to record a sequence using a 3ds max camera? It comes into Vantage and scrubs, but I can't work out how to render that camera sequence! Is there a video somewhere that deals with that Vladimir? Thanks for your swift reply btw
Edit: don't know what I did, but the camera is working now! I'll get the hang of it, first few hours playing, very impressed

Support for both is planned, but not sure when we will get there.
Having the animation as .vrmesh is better, since you don't have to re-export it each time with the .vrscene.

We have some getting started videos in the docs.
