  • How vantage analysis or choose the render setting of .vrscene files

    hi vantagers
    title is my question, when rendering use vray5+max,there many setting parameter,such as colormaping group,they work well in max,but when I use Vantage,only gamma can work,others are invalid(all informations are right in .vrscene file). so is there a instruction to introduce how vantage work, like Supported Features per Host App,

    ps: vantage doesn't have Image modifier like vrb, I have to set render parameter to improve image, unlucky.

    thank your work,best wish

    Currently Vantage does not implement many separate color corrections like V-Ray does through its VFB. We will add some of them in the future. But you can transfer the color corrections from the VFB with an additional step: save all the corrections as a .LUT file (right click on Display Corrections) and load it in Vantage.

      hi npg thank your reply.
      at first ,your suggestion is one way;
      howerver color correction is one problem, others trap me also, such as light cache ,bruteforce.......
      is there any plan to detail api about rendersetting , like Supported Features per Host App

        Hi max_romju

        Vantage doesn't import any V-Ray specific render settings(like GI bounces, Brute force , Light cache, etc.) Can you explain more why would you need to export such quality render settings that will most probably reduce Vantage's performance?

        Best regards,

          (low probability) the images rendered by Vantage are not as perfect as vray5 ,for example,when render cube6*1,there is border between two images,but vray rendering is ok(must turnoff amb.occlusion,if not has border also),so I couldn't find better way to handle vantage.

              Hi max_romju,

              The cell size specifies the size of a single voxel, in scene units, that is used for the Light cache calculations. Low values will produce more accurate lighting but will impact performance. For additional info you can check the docs page:https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...dSceneSettings

                Try increasing the sample limit several times (e.g. to 1000, 2000) if you think the light cache quality is low. Better leave the other settings at their default values. Especially "filter primary rays" - leave it disabled.
