  • F-Number and DOF

    Hello,
when setting the exposure to physical mode, the F-number doesn't affect the DOF effect, it just set for exposure only?

You have the "aperture size" override enabled in the DoF settings below.

One thing I noticed: It seems the F-Number needs to by divided by a facter of 10. So 0,8 to get what you would expect of an F-Number of 8. Is this scale dependant?

Focal length, film gate, etc. are in millimeters, so yeah, if the scene scale is not set correctly, it could lead to some wrong calculations in the lens code.

p.s. or maybe I should say _correct_ calculations, with unexpected result

Would it makes sense to introduce a scaling facter on scene import?

The .vrscene file already contains the scaling/unit information.
If you have it setup correctly in 3ds Max, we should be able to use it.

I am against additional scaling factors, as that further complicates an already complicated issue that is scene scale.
