  • Animation using multiple copies of Vantage

I'd like to know if it's possible to send an animation sequence to a render node that's running Vantage, the machine in question is set up as a render node.

    Hi Devin,

Currently you cannot send data from Vantage to be rendered on a different machine. You can however open the scene in Vantage on that render node machine and render a specified frame range. Would that work out for you?

    Best regards,

I know that's an option but it means I'll have to buy full licenses for all the plugins I use just so I can open the scene in Max and send the file to Vantage. I'm already paying for render node licenses on those machines, I'd be happy to just pay for a Vantage render node license, is that not possable?

You can change ports and initiate live link , vantage will open on a different computer on the same network. Files should be on a shared drive. I remember I did this before.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't I still be limited to one connection at a time, I want to be able to use more than one machine at a time to render.

              Hi devin,

If your render node machine works under Windows, has a suitable GPU, then simply log in there, install Vantage and open your scene. From the Render setup dialog set the Frame range that you wish to render out.

              Best regards,
