Vantage doesn't support animation with slice modifier?

By live link it works, however when I export in Vrayscene it doesn't work.

    Hi Pablo,

That sort of deformation isn't yet supported from .vrscene but we will be adding support for it eventually. Currently the only way to render such animations is via Live Link.

    Best regards,

Hi Alexander, thanks for getting back to me.

I did it using live link, but it gets a little heavy when rendering.

What do you mean by "a little heavy" ?

There is a delay for every frame rendered

This is somewhat expected - if you are using the slice modifier on every object in the scene, all the geometry changes each frame,
so it has to be reloaded. It's almost like reloading the scene (textures not included).

It's not clear how much of that slow down is caused by 3ds Max(updating the frame), V-Ray for 3ds Max (exporting the new frame
to V-Ray objects) and Vantage (receiving the new data and updating the GPU representation).

If you can send us the scene, we might be able to examine it and come up with optimizations, but it's not guaranteed.

In any case, once we have the .vrscene support, this update process might be even slower since the new geometry data will be read from disk.
