  • how to change vantage settings while rendering from 3ds max

i selected option to render animation using vantage UI. 3ds max starts up and gives the frame buffer window and says to look at vantage for preview. then i switch over to vantage, see my settings options, but there is no way to adjust settings such as the amount of denoiser (0-100), or exposure, or even turn on opacity so my tree leaves look right.

    thanks.

ps i've stopped the render, then i was able to adjust things in vantage, but there's no way to restart the render from within vantage, and if i restart from 3ds max, it overwrites the settings i changed in vantage.

also i just noticed that my denoiser jumps from 50 back to 100 if i am in vantage, load the vrscene file and hit render.. it keeps opacity turned on though. so is there some way to make those adjustments i want, then just render from 3ds max with those adjustments?

      ha! i figured it out!

first i initiated a live link to vantage.
next i turned off denoise, turned off bloom, made other changes - highlight/burn also.
then i went back into 3ds max and clicked on the option to render in vantage with the vantage interface, made sure at least denoise was off as well.

i'm not sure if having both max and vantage open at the same time hurts rendering time in vantage but seems like it working.

At this stage, you should also be able to save the changed settings using the "File -> Save Scene" command.
Next time after you initiate a live link connection for the same scene, you can open these settings with "File -> Open Scene as Config Only".
