  • Workflow for pipeline with different lighting situations

Hi there, I'm getting started with Vantage and try to understand the render pipeline...
The scenario: as a lighting designer I'd like to show different lighting situations (artificial light / daytime /nighttime) to our customers. So I have my Vray lights in my scene that I want to switch on and off or dim in intensity in different renders.

So my thought was to set the dim levels (or visibiility of the element), save it to a camera and fire up the pipeline and put it into the render pipeline. But as far as I can see, the settings for lights are not saved in the camera view.
Is there a workflow that allows having multiple lighting scenes render in one queue? For now, I make my settings, render a single picture, change the settings, render again and so on..
Is there an easier way to do this?
Thanks a lot for hints & tricks!

    Hi Oliver,

We are working on a solution for a scene state system which includes lighting scenarios but it is still in development. We will let you know when the feature will be available. As a current workaround you can save separate .vantage files for the different light setups and load them when needed.

    Best regards,

Hi Alexander, thanks for the info. I'll be patient waiting for new features, I have to say even without some features still in development, Vantage is amazing!!

I think if you use live link, you can do a real-time presentation with your clients by grouping lights and turning them on and off as needed.
