  • State Geometry in Rhino

Is there are way to state geometry in Rhino using liveLink? I could not find any way to use the state geometry while using the live link in Rhino.
    Is there any workaround?
    Does Vantage support Rhino Snapshots?

Also when I export the Rhino scene using VRScene, I could not select some objects, they are in the Vantage viewport, but not in the outliner.
Can you guys add support to the Rhino layer system, and also to the grouped object to blocks? It will be way easier to select the object. This is when I use VRScene.

    Hi javierrentas

It depends on what you mean by Snapshot:
    - if you mean only the saved snapshot view and present it as a camera - that is very much possible
    - If you mean restoring the geometry, materials, etc.. whatever was recorded to the snapshot - unfortunately we cannot do that. Rhino API allows only restoring the snapshot directly onto the current model, loosing all changes. In this case I'd suggest you use the batch renderer to export only a .vrscene file, which can subsequently be loaded into Vantage.

The problem with the selection is due to duplicated object names. That is a known issue, for which the team will soon start implementing some improvements in the area. Same goes for layers and blocks
As for the groups - there are limitations in the Rhino itself. Groups are not distinct objects, but only a selection filter. A single object may take part in multiple groups with different level of nesting.

I suggest you set more distinct names to your objects, until the team implements the features in question

Yes, I was more interested in the geometry modification on the snapshot than the cameras and views.
Thank you for your quick response and for your suggestions. I will try them.
