  • Render Element Question

Anyone know of a method to render an alpha/matte of an object hidden by others in a scene? For example, I want to later (in AE) highlight the entire box that is partially inside of the sphere. I can use a Multi-Matte pass but the sphere always covers it up, as expected. Any way to override that? Or another method without rendering the entire animation again?

Hi, thanks for posting. The best method of doing this is rendering twice as far as I know.

You might be able to use the Alpha pass, set the Alpha Contribution to 0 on the objects you don't want to see.

But I agree with Vladimir, it's probably easier just to re-render with only the object visible.
