  • Problem, 3Ds max Live-link to Chaos Vantage 2.6

    3D max 2020; Vray 6, update 2; Chaos Vantage 2.6 new update

    I just installed update 2.6
But when working with Live-Link, I just need to change Camera or move on Viewport of 3D max, Chaos Vantage will automatically add Camera. I don't know if I need to set anything or the problem from the new update when Cameras are recognized as objects.

Please let me know what the problem is? Thanks a lot

    Hi vinh_nhn,

This is a known bug from the cameras as objects improvement. It only happens when in Live link you have created a camera in Vantage and move around in your DCC(in your case 3ds Max). and we already have a fix for it that will be available in the hotfix that we will release later this week.

    Best regards,

I think have some problems with create camera button . I have updated to 2.6.1 but when I create the camera in Chaos Vantage, it's not working, bug and lost livelink. Waitting for new fix. Many thanks!

          Hi hong_xunmnh,

After you have created a camera in Vantage does the scene not update or only the camera? With the 2.6 release when you create a camera in Vantage and you move the camera inside 3ds Max it no longer switches to the Original Camera. In order to see camera changes from Max you have to manually select the Original camera in the Camera lister in Vantage. If you have multiple cameras in Max, they are all shown in the camera lister in Vantage and if you select one of them only if you move that same camera in Max you will see the camera updating in Vantage. The rest on the scene should update regardless from which camera you are viewing:https://drive.google.com/file/d/10uN...usp=drive_link

However if the scene really doesn't update in your case, can you send us a video that shows us your exact steps so we can try to replicate it?

          Best regards,
          Alexander
