  • Vantage 2.6.2 turns off Scattering Fog when processing Animation

Hi, I read a thread posted back in 2023 on this exact same topic. We are now at Vantage 2.6 and I guess this issue must have a solution by now that I still need to figure out.

I tried updating my GPU drivers (Nvidia RTX A5500) but the issue persists. Livelink its working fine, everything seems alright on that end.

Still Images are being processed as one would expect, but whenever Vantage starts processing the Animation from Max' Physical Cam, it turns off Scattering Fog for some reason. I tried turning Live Link off/on. Issue still happens in both cases.

Haven't tried setting Environmental Fog directly in the Max' Environment Settings, but it should be working just fine in Vantage by now, right?

EDIT 1: I downloaded and installed version 2.6.1. Still same issue happening AND VraySky would render all black. I´ll keep posting.

EDIT 2: Installed version 2.5.2. It wont even open Vantage when hitting the LiveLink button in Max. LOL. Back to version 2.6.2.

EDIT 3: Vantage 2.6.2 didnt work. Might be a LiveLink issue? Should one be able to process Scattering Fog with LiveLink on? Anyways, my solution was to export the animation/scene as vrscene to Vantage and removing LiveLink from the equation. It worked and I got what i wanted but it would´ve been nice to make it work with LiveLink.

    See Images attached below:

LiveLink On - Scattering Fog working as expected:

Starting Animation - LiveLink On - Vantage turned off Scattering Fog:

    Any ideas? Help!

Currently, when using the live link, you have to setup the fog in the max environment settings.
The Vantage specific parameters like fog start/end, light boost and max opacity should be kept (as long as the live link session is not restarted).
    Sorry for the inconvenience.
