    Hi,

    I'm new to Vantage, and still learning the basics. Right now i'm trying to replicate the road markings made in VRay, into Vantage, but i had no success.

    If i use only decals, there will be hundreds in one single scene, also i don't think flooding a scene with decals would help in the GPU load.

    Is it possible? Can anyone help me with this?

      I don't think it will be too much of a problem (as long as the decals are not all on top of each other).

        Any word if distance mapping will be implemented in Vantage so that it can be used as a map channel with vrayblend?

          Hi Luma3d,

          Distance map is not currently planned but you can achieve a very similar result with the Dirt texture. Here is an example how to do that (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NUS...p=drive_link):
          1. Make the radius large enough for the markings geometry
          2. Increase the distribution very high to reduce the falloff gradient
          3. Include only the markings geometry in the Affected by... list
          4. Reduce the markings geometry to a very low number 0.001 for example

            Hello Alexander, can you please upload your 3DS max scene with this material and setup? I cant replicate it... Thanks!
            Or maybe fbx? I have older max version... (2022) thanks a lot!
            Edit: I tried to connect nodes little bit different and now its working (i dont know if its in correct way, but its working somehow Click image for larger version
