  • 2.6.2 vs 2.7.1 quality...

Does anyone notice a difference... can't put my finger on it but seems like lighting quality was better in older version. Might just be me.

Top is 2.7 bottom is 2.6. Same photoshop settings.

It seems the two images above are made with different versions of the scene - there is extra geometry in the top image - some pipe or column on the right. Which makes me think you may also have other differences in scene content or settings.

Can you post an image comparison of the same scene version using this site? https://imgsli.com/

That was all that was added. Everything else, mats, lights, etc are the same.

There is definitely some colorspace difference between 2.7.1 and 2.6. Here is another project. Raw png output.

            Hi Luma3d,

In 2.7.0 we added OCIO support and if your scene in Max was set to use it up until now Vantage wasn't rendering as the VFB would. You can check from the top toolbar> Render setting(the monitor icon)> Display correction dropdown: (https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1TF5m...zl3I6jZ3mNhP1E) If it is Auto try switching between sRGB and OpenColorIO to see if the difference is coming from this.

            Best regards,
            Alexander

Ok... that's what it was... Max was set at srgb and Vantage wasn't. Thanks.
