    1 Hour In...

    Navigation Speed
Nav with the WASD keys is very slow. Is there a way to increase speed? I see mouse speed setting, but not movement...
    EDIT: Found the setting.

    Resources
The Lavina Player is pushing the GPU to the Max at all times - even with the default tree scene. Other processes on my machine immediately slow down upon starting due to the resource allocation. I've fired up the NVIDIA GPU Profiler and included that next to a screen shot of my interior space....

    Lights
I cannot get any lights to work. Is there a trick? Mesh lights and rectangular don't seem to have any functionality. Which lights should I be using?
EDIT: I zoomed back on see that my lights are not in the correct location. They've been located just outside of my space. I also see the list of supported/unsupported lights...

    HDRI Dome
I've got an HDRI mapped to a dome light in my scene, but this doesn't come over and work in the player. I do see that Lavina has it's own background system so...
EDIT: Sorry, just saw where these aren't yet supported.

      Hi landrvr1,

You can manually drop the HDRI file in the Lavina viewport and it will be loaded as a dome light.

Lavina will keep refining your image progressively. You can pause the rendering temporarily using this button or pressing the "Pause" key.

There are going to be differences, so please make sure you check the supported features documentation page.

      Best regards,
      Simeon

Mesh lights are not supported, however rectangle lights should work correctly as long as you don't have a texture on them.
Rectangle/Sphere/Directional lights should be ok to use. Also point lights without soft shadows.

EDIT: I zoomed back on see that my lights are not in the correct location. They've been located just outside of my space.
This shouldn't be happening. Can you share a 3ds Max scene that exhibits this behavior ?

I will be working on support for more lights for the next beta.
However, often times with GPU rendering, support for additional features leads to slower performance, unless the shaders are re-compiled specifically for each scene, something we don't currently do.
So, it will be useful to know which lights you absolutely need and which you can live without.

Vlad, tnx. I re-exported an the light is in the correct location. I have a single light in this scene just for test purposes. It's a plane light, but renders as nearly black instead of invisible. Here's a screen shot:

If it's rendering different compared to V-Ray for 3ds Max, I will need the 3ds Max scene to check what I've missed in the Lavina implementation.
Or at least a simplified version of the scene with only the light and some geo.
