  • Render High Quality Walkthrough

    Brief description of the problem:
Loaded a scene with animated camera. Pressed play (bottom left corner): played nicely. Stopped animation. Pressed Button: Render High Quality Walkthrough : Only one image of the animation is being rendered over and over again but not the whole sequence.
Also tried to play and after that hit render but then I got random (incoherent) frames from my sequence.

    Hi

Currently you can't directly render the scene (camera) animation as a "high quality render / walkthrough". You have to record a walkthrough yourself. But you can start recording and immediately play the animation to get the desired result.

The walkthrough feature is very basic at the moment, so for example the second it takes for you to hit "play animation" or start moving the camera yourself is also recorded, so when you start rendering the first few frames will be static until you reach the moment in the recording where something starts moving (same goes for the end of the recording). Is this the one image you said was rendered over and over?

Here is a video which shows a walkthrough recorded from user movement. In your case you would play the animation that came with the scene instead of moving yourself.

      Thanks Nikola!
And I forgot to mention that Lavina is awesome already!

          Does the walkthrough function work?
Because I followed the tutorial and did exactly the same but nothing gets recorded and only the first image is rendered over and over.
Also when i use the playback function the camera is not moving.

Will there in the future also be an option to export to a 360 image?

It does work for me. Just tested it. I followed Nikolas instructions: Start the walkthrough recording, hit play (quickly), animation plays, at the end press stop recording, press "high quality render / walkthrough".
Depending on how quick you press play the animation rendered the first frame like 30 times but then it started rendering the rest.

VR-studio, did you wait for the whole sequence to render? As stated previously, the functionality is quite limited currently, so usually you get to record some idle time (using the Ctrl+Shift+R shortcut to record may be faster). Try rendering at a very low resolution first, to quickly see if the sequence looks as expected.

360 degrees renders are planned for the future, yes.
