  • General settings for better results?

Rendered out an animation sequence in very low light (Nighttime) GI is from HDRI and self-illuminating object materials in the scene.

My Sequence was 1800 frames imported from 3dsmax and I made a mistake in recording the walkthrough which meant that Lavina rendered out overnight 21,800 images which is quite impressive on a single machine.

My specific questions are as follows.

    1. How to adjust/stop flickering GI
    2. Render out camera animation imported from max without creating a recorded version in Lavina.
    3. Can materials be adjusted in Lavina (don't think so, but hey...ya never know eh)
    4. If I don't have lights or at least a VRay sky component in my max scene when I import to Lavina in imports everything but nothing is shown in the viewport regardless of exposure values.

This thing is showing huge possibilities for us at the moment and I am super excited.

    Cheers

Is it flickering or just noise that's not cleared ? Can you show us a short part of the rendered animation ?
If there is still noise, you can increase the number of samples.
You can also disable the light cache to make sure it's not that.

Note that currently Lavina doesn't have adaptive image sampling, which means parts of the image that are already noise free still get sampled.
We will be working on this in the future, as it can reduce the render times a lot.

    2. Render out camera animation imported from max without creating a recorded version in Lavina.
Yes, we definitely need to implement this.
For now, I think it's possible to record the camera animation as a "walthrough".

    No, that's not possible.

    4. If I don't have lights or at least a VRay sky component in my max scene when I import to Lavina in imports everything but nothing is shown in the viewport regardless of exposure values.
You can load an environment image or enable ambient lighting in Lavina.
Currently, there is no way to create lights.
