  • Baked Particle Flow

I've been playing around with baking particle flows and have had intermittent success. Using simple triangle geometry, I've noticed that the baked particles will sometimes play for the whole animation, and others they'll only play for about 1 second (not all baked particles show for the duration of the animation). If the particle flow is set to total, instead of rate, I've had better success with the baked particles. So far about 20% of my attempts get the baked particles to work as expected. Not sure if this is a bug or limitation with Lavina's abilities to handle multiple animations, but thought I'd post since I hadn't seen this yet in the forum.

After further investigation, it seems that either the vrscene compile or Lavina culls the geometry, only loading approximately 25-30% of the animated particles. I tried with 250 baked particles, and 1500 baked particles. In both attempts when opening in Lavina, it only loaded 97 of the 250 particles and 400 of the 1500 baked particles. Hopefully this helps.

Sourced the problem inside of the baking script. Not a Lavina issue. All animated particles are working inside of Lavina… really cool to be pushing so many animated objects in real time!
