  • Lavina cannot import a VRSCENE within a VRSCENE?

I am working with a sketchup model that has a VRSCENE building within it (see attached). Basically, the building was modeled within Rhino and exported as a VRSCENE. It was then imported into SketchUp. When I export the new VRSCENE from sketchup, only the SketchUp geometry is showing up in Lavina. My question is, can Lavina not import VRSCENE data within another VRSCENE? Or, when I export a VRSCENE from sketchup does it exclude the VRSCENE data that was imported into SketchUp?

Unfortunately the VRayScene plugin is not yet supported by Lavina. It will be, eventually, but I can't give you an ETA.

As a workaround you can drag and drop the embedded scene onto the main scene in Lavina and select "Merge" when asked. You will have to adjust the position though. A top-level object will appear in the Objects tab, representing the whole merged scene. You can select it there to be able translate/rotate the whole thing.

Thanks! By the VRayScene plugin not being supported, do you mean in general it isn't supported yet? It seems to be working ok when importing VRSCENE's from simpler projects.

The VRayScene plugin which is used to embed vrscene files into other vrscene files is not supported. It isn't parsed at all - as if it weren't there. We only parse the original vrscene file (note that #include directives in it do work though).
