    Hi there!

I followed the tutorial on how to configure the server and the port range in 3ds Max, but when I start IPR it shows a V-ray message error, visible in the screenshot below. What can be done to solve this?

You have to install the latest stable nightly for Vray.

Yeah, we realized this yesterday and we will update the documentation. V-Ray performs a safety check to avoid mismatched versions during DR (which might cause difference in buckets for example). In this case it is safe to turn it off. You can do this by setting the environment variable VRAY_DR_SKIP_VERSION_CHECK=1 before running 3dsmax.

Of course using a matching V-Ray version would also solve this, as Lee said. Whichever you prefer.

          Hi, dear Lavina developers.

          Hm, so strange.

I installed today Project Lavina Beta 6 from the site and the latest V-Ray Nightly from 7 Nov for 3ds max 2021. And still, have this error.

          VRAY_DR_SKIP_VERSION_CHECK=1 didn't help.

          How to fix these issues?

Thank you and have a great day
          Best regards,
          Andrew.

Can you try restarting your machine to make sure the new value for the variable is used by both Lavina and 3ds Max ?
You have to at least restart both Lavina and 3ds Max, but it depends where you start them from, it might not be enough.

              Hi, vladimir.nedev

So I restarted my PC. And when I start IPR - now nothing happens =)

Video with this issue -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Due55Nfsurw

I just test a simple scene... but I think this is enough for the IPR test, right =) Or I should create something bigger? =) With full lighting setup and etc?

                Hm, that's really strange.

Can you show what the "V-Ray Messages", i.e V-Ray log window says ?

Do you have a V-Ray Standalone running as a DR server on the machine ? - in that case change the port for Lavina.

Do you have a firewall that might be blocking the connection ?

V-Ray log didn't show anything, because It didn't open.

So, I changed the port to 3849 =) And now everything working =) I think I can use any port except the port from the tutorial =) I don't know why, but everything working =) So I'm happy =)

So thank you for your advice =)

                  Have a great day
                  Best regards,
