  • Can't access lights menu

    Hi there!

I have installed version 0.6.0, but I can't access each light properties like I used to with a previous version. The only thing I can do in lights tab is enable lights and adjust ambient light. How can I see and adjust each light present in the scene?
I also have 3ds max 2021.2, and although have checked V-Ray Ligh Lister, the window doesn't show up. Are the two issues releated?

Are you using the live link ?
Changing lights inside Lavina is not available if you are running the live link - you have to do it in the host app.
We still have to figure out how this might work, i.e. being able to modify the lights from both the host app and Lavina.

    Greetings,
    Vladimir Nedev

You're right, I'm using live link. It would be of utmost value if one could modify lights with live link; I'm constantly showing the changes of the design to my colleague, and lights are a very important part of the equation.

Thank you very much for your attention.

You can modify lights with the live link, you just have to do it in your host app (I am guessing that's 3ds Max) while the live link is running.

If we allow modification of the lights inside Lavina while the live link is running, we would also need to figure out a way to bring those changes back to 3ds Max
and also provide UI to enable/disable the set of modifications you've done inside Lavina, since you would have two different states for the lights.

You're right, it's possible to change the lights in 3ds Max, although I find it more intuitive in Lavina. However, I imagine it will not be easy to program the synchronization between the two softwares.

          Thanks for you help!
