  • Vray c4d to chaos vantage

    Hi everyone!
I'm an user of Vray 5 for C4D, and when I export my project to .vrscene and load it to Chaos Vantage, the model appears all in pink...Anyone knows how can I fix this issue, or maybe I'm doing anything wrong...?
I Attach an screenshot of my model in Chaos Vantage.
    Many thanks!

No, you are not doing anything wrong.
V-Ray for Cinema4D uses special internal shading graph nodes that are needed in order to support the UV/Texture tags that Cinema4D uses.

These special nodes are not currently supported by Vantage.
We will be working on this in the next couple of months.
We will get back to you in this thread.

    Greetings,
    Vladimir Nedev

It’s nice to know that you will work to support Vantage on Vray for Cinema, may I ask if you are evaluating future support also for AMD GPUs now that they have raytracing hardware?

We tried the new AMD GPUs when they came out in late November last year, but our code was just not running correctly on them.
We suspect some issues with the DXR support in the AMD drivers, but the bugs were just too random to figure out.
We will most likely try again when newer drivers come out and more DXR titles are supported by AMD.

Based on the game benchmarks (mainly Minecraft), it seems the AMD hardware raytracing is much much slower than the nVidia one.
It is after all version 1, while nVidia are on version 2.
So, support for AMD GPUs is not high priority at the moment, but we have to get the ball rolling in case they come out with better hardware at the end of this year.

Many thanks for the quick response Vladimir!
So C4D users can't use Vantage until this issue will be fixed?
I'm sad cause really love the useful possibilities of Vantage for the Vray users...please don't forget C4D users

Yes, pretty much not possible until we fix it.
