Livelink installation with 2 versions of 3DS Max

I run both Max 2021 and 2018, when installing Vantage I select all boxes and it shows up nicely in Max 2021.
It does not show up in Max 2018. Am I doing something wrong? (Vray 5.0 on both as well.)
To be honest: I don't even know for sure if 2018 is supported.

Thanks for letting me know! (If there is a manual work around, perhaps by moving some plug-in files from 2021 to 2018, please let me know as well.)

Hi Yard2380,

The installer only supports and detects 3Ds Max 2021, 2020, 2019. You could manually copy the following file:

[LIST][*]%localappdata%\Autodesk\3dsMax\2021 - 64bit\ENU\usermacros[LIST][*]Chaos_Vantage-UtilityFunctions.ms[*]Chaos_Vantage-VantageImportChanges.mcr[*]Chaos_Vantage-VantageLiveLink.mcr[*]Chaos_Vantage-VantageTransferAnimVrscene.mcr[*]Chaos_Vantage-VantageTransferStaticVrscene.mcr[/LIST][*]%localappdata%\Autodesk\3dsMax\2021 - 64bit\ENU\usericons[LIST][*]VantageToolbar_16a.bmp[*]VantageToolbar_16i.bmp[*]VantageToolbar_24a.bmp[*]VantageToolbar_24i.bmp[*]VantageToolbarDark_16i.bmp[*]VantageToolbarDark_24i.bmp[/LIST][/LIST]

and paste them accordingly to:

[LIST][*]%localappdata%\Autodesk\3dsMax\2018 - 64bit\ENU\usermacros[*]%localappdata%\Autodesk\3dsMax\2018 - 64bit\ENU\usericons[/LIST]

That should make them appear in Max 2018.

I am having a trouble getting the Livelink buttons to show up at all. We tried the process listed above with no success. Any chance there's something we are missing?

In V-Ray 5 update 1 the Vantage toolbar is part of the V-Ray for 3ds Max installation and as far as I know it doesn't have the issue which started this thread.
Do you have the update ?
