  • Live -Link does not work

    Hi guys,

Every time I try to activate Live-link, vantage does not charge my scene but the default tree scene...

    My specification:

    3DS Max 2021.3
    Vray 5 Update1.1
    Vantage 1.1.1

Graphics card: RTX3090 Driver Game Ready 461.72

The scene I'm working on is just the main geometry of an old project with just one white material and a Vray sun.

I'm also leaving here my settings.

    Thanks in advance!!

Have you made sure it's not a firewall issue?
Is there any difference if you try disabling the startup scene from Preferences>Files>"Load startup scene" checkbox?
Are there any relevant error messages in the MAXScript Listener?
Are there relevant errors in the Vantage debug log?

Another speculative check. Tell us what the command "nslookup localhost" outputs in a command prompt window. And also the contents of the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

      Hi Nikola,
I checked all your points, but I cant figure out the problem...

Is there any difference if you try disabling the startup scene from Preferences>Files>"Load startup scene" checkbox? Not much, sometimes is even worse. Because (NOT every time) the software seems to create a weird loop in which it tries to open repeatedly the scene without success...
Are there any relevant error messages in the MAXScript Listener? Seems no to me... I'm attaching a screenshot

I forgot to also ask about the V-Ray messages log, in case there is an error there...

Also, try doing the manual steps described in this topic instead of starting the link from the V-Ray toolbar (of course in your case it's still 127.0.0.1 and not a remote machine): https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...ocated-machine

          Thanks Nikola,

          Seems to work fine.
Just make sure to delete the existing IP and Port (even if they are the same) and press resolve server.

          Best!
