        Hello poliedrostudiosrl_poliedrostudiosrl,

Thank you for the report! Could you elaborate a bit more on your worklfow with Vantage?

During Live Link, any change to the camera in 3ds Max will reset parameters that were changed in Vantage. This means that when you pick a focus point in Vantage, it will be reset when you, e.g. move the camera in 3ds Max. That is the reason why we disabled changing parameters when in Live Link.

It would help us if you describe the steps you perform when using Vantage. Do you change camera in 3ds Max, or only in Vantage? If so, do you bring the camera back through a .vantage file?

The bus is the same for Chosmos too.
Can you share more info on this as well?

        Best regards,
        Simeon

Hello and thanks for the reply.
          I'll explain.
I use the live Link with 3ds max and I create various views with new cameras in vantage or I use those of 3ds max (I always control the socatura only on vantage).
The problem now is that the pick focus point and the cosmos do not work during the live link, but are activated only after closing 3ds max.

            Thanks for clarifying!

Is there a particular reason you add Cosmos assets in Vantage? Can you add those in 3ds Max? If you do so, the Cosmos assets should be updated via Live Link.

If you add Cosmos assets in Vantage, these are not synced in 3ds Max. If you want to continue working in 3ds Max, you'll have to recreate the assets there. Does that workflow work for you?

            Best regards,
            Simeon

              Yes i know.
If I would to have a light scene in 3ds max without vegetation?
If i want to create a new camera in Vantage with Deph o field and Pick Point Focus?
              All this in Live Link.

So, you use Vantage to scatter objects, e.g. vegetation? That is good to know. Do you at some point recreate the vegetation in 3ds Max, or do you finish rendering in Vantage only? If you recreate them, do you need to replicate the exact placement? I'm trying to understand how much work you do in 3ds Max and how much in Vantage. I see two possible workflows:
                1. Create in 3ds Max -> Link to Vantage -> Preview and render from Vantage
                2. Create in 3ds Max -> Link to Vantage -> Preview in Vantage -> Sync back in 3ds Max -> Render with V-Ray
Is there a different workflow that you use? Are there steps that I am missing?

You are correct for the camera, we will change this behavior with the next update. In the meantime you can use the previous version of Vantage.

                Many thanks,
                Simeon

                  Hi Simeon,
                  I use workflow 1.
Modelling, texturing, lighting in 3ds max, Live Link and render in Vantage (create main cameras in 3ds max and secondary of details in Vantage, sometimes import from cosmos vegetation or people)
I dont' t Sync back in 3ds Max.

We've rectified this in Vantage update 2.1 (version 1.2.1) that we've just released.
