Vantage loads but then vanishes....

I am trying to run vantage on my workstation and it loads the main UI but then as it is rendering the sample scene Vantage disapears completely.
Vantage 1.2.1
RTX 2070 driver 462.31

Is there a log I can look at? Or any other ideas?

Yes, the log is in %appdata%/Chaos Group\Vantage\debug_log.txt

Indeed, there are no serious errors in the log. Except for those from an old Cosmos beta version. Vantage initialization didn't finish because there is no line with the text "Total initialization time".

- Could you try removing Cosmos Beta (instructions below) and reinstalling Vantage (this will install the official Cosmos) so that we can rule out some weird crash being caused by it? (Not likely, but lets rule it out)
- Is there a dump file with matching file date in %TEMP%/Vantage_*.dmp ?
- Is it possible that an antivirus killed vantage.exe because it didn't like it?

Here's how to remove Cosmos beta browser and content:
1) Uninstall the existing Chaos Cosmos Browser program. On Windows, go to Add or Remove Programs, find Chaos Content Browser and click on Uninstall.
2) Remove any files from previous installations by deleting these directories (if they exist):
C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\Content
C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\Content
C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents\Chaos Cosmos

There is no dump file in the temp directory.

Removing the cosmos beta browser and content has fixed the issue.

Can you show us the popup ? I don't think the original post mentions any popup ?

Your log looks very similar to the one in the original post.
Are you sure you didn't install the Cosmos beta at some point and it's still on your system ?

By popup I mean vantage gui shows up and then vanishes. And no cosmos installed ever, coz I don't need it

The log file shows that an old Beta version of Cosmos is installed (2020.11.26). It requires manual steps to be removed: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...re#post1103839
From then on just install normally and Cosmos can even update itself while running in Max/Vantage/etc
