  • Stereo 360 Rendering Issue

    Hello.
We have noticed what seem like to be a bug while rendering Stereo 3D images. We have 2x RTX 3090. No LC, No DOF. 100 samples.

    1. If we render with 2x GPU enabled in Stereo mode we get center portion blurred as you can see in 1st image.
    2. If we render with only 1x GPU then then it renders correctly as you can see in 2ndimage, but of course time is double.

Hope to find a solution quickly. Thank You

Thanks for reporting this. Are you using the denoiser here? Or motion blur?

After some testing, we realized its the problem with Mblur.
Also we have some black splotches when we are using 2x GPU at 4000x4000res.
as of now we have the only option to render on single GPU.
        Thank You

As i mentioned in another thread. Mblur renders the image blurry in center. and with Denoise on, it renders images with black splotches in high res stereo 4000x4000.

Also one small problem noticed is the timeline settings don't save with the vantage scene when u save the file. every time u open the scene you have to re set the animation frames(green and red markers) and time display and snap at (image attached). it would be nice if we could save this last settings used.
          thanks.

Our motion blur uses a real-time post-processing algorithm which has some limitations. For example it might produce some artifacts. But we left it as an option when we added "offline" rendering in case it is good enough for some users. I'm not sure if we ever tried it with a non-perspective camera.

Thanks for reporting about the settings that don't get saved. We missed that and it will be fixed.

Actually, motion blur works correctly only for a normal Physical camera. We have not implemented velocity calculation for other camera types. And we have failed to disable it for such cameras.

The issue where some animation editor settings weren't saved in the .vantage file will be fixed in the next patch.
