I have a scene in 3ds max that contains 4d people from axyz and live link vantage. First of all the viewport in max gets too luggy, not responsive. Secondly when rendering the animation with the new live link animation render, every 10 frames i get one where the vertices of the 4d people are totally destroyed and then continues normal for few frames until it destroys again.

Hi digital_technologies,
The lag is probably happening because the max viewport and Vantage are using the same GPU and are fighting for resources, it will be the same if you try V-Ray GPU IPR. One possible solution is if you have 2 GPUs to tell Vantage to not use the GPU that the monitor is attached or plug the monitor to a GPU that will not be used for rendering.

Even when i do as you suggested problem not fixed.
As soon as I run vantage, lagg starts to happen with axyz people. Even if i shutdown vantage the problem persists and viewport of max is very slow.
Then i have to reset the scene in max and viewport gets responsive again.

My intention is the following:
As soon as I am able to have 3ds max viewwport running smooth with 4d people while running vantage, then I will be manually moving to next frame and print screen. This process again and again will cover a sequence of frames which I will comvbine in premiere to get the animation.
But now even moving to next frame is very slow, impossible to work with.

My question is general as well.
I mean is it supposed that 4d people in 3ds max work with Vantage live link?
Have you tried it out in your team.
Cause in my case as soon as I import even one 4d people 3ds max viewport becomes very slow.
I need to mention that I am using anima all subscription.

It is very strange that this lag is happening only after you have started Vantage and doesn't stop after you close it. Does it happen if you start a DR GPU IPR session with other machines, because Live Link with Vantage is just that?

Thank you very much for your reply and persistant help on the forums.
The videos that you sent me shows anima rigged people.
I think the problem comes with 4d people.
4d people use allembic format optimized by axyz to capture in 3d each frame of a 3d character movement.
Can you please check with these people and let me know if at your end there is no problem still.

Yes, I confirm that with 4d people the lag is reproducible on our side. This is also happening when using GPU IPR. When you said that the lag is continuing after you stop Vantage, have you closed the Live link connection first with the button in Max, or you just close Vantage? If that is the case, if you closed Vantage without stopping the live link connection first, Max is still sending data and IPR is running in the background. Can you confirm if you stop the live link from the button the lag stops or continues?

Then the max viewport goes back to normal.
Please try to solve this issue with rendering 4d people. It is the only thing missing to being able create the most amazing archviz short films.

Any updates with the Anima meshes going mental? It's happening on their regular rigged characters (not 4d characters)? It seems to happen only on the copy and pasted Anima people, must be something in the Anima core?
