  • Flickering problem

hello everyone! I have an issue, it´s seems a randomly problem. I'm use depth of field, render settings by default, denoiser Nvidia, light cache (sample limit 800), render sequence by default (denoiser, render flickering and light cache are on) 600 samples. i had the same problem in other sequence with 1800 samples. I missing something?

    cheers!

    Ps. i'm used 3080 rtx

I made another test, deactivate the Depth of field, the problem is gone :/

I don't think we've seen this issue before. Does this happen when DoF is enabled but Light Cache is disabled? Or when these are enabled but denoising is disabled?

If you could you share the scene file with us (and probably textures as well, unless it happens even without any textures), we should be able to reproduce the issue and work on a fix.

in both of them LC is on. I made another test with DOF on and LC off. The flickering is back

OK. So it's either DOF itself or the combination of DOF + Nvidia denoiser. Can you share the scene?

I think if it was the driver of the gpu. The last version is installed.

Thanks again for the scene. We were able to reproduce the issue, though it seems to occur randomly. The bad frames seem to end at a lower number of samples than the rest. We will be debugging it and I hope we'll have a fix soon.

thanks a lot for the feedback, hope u can solve tomorrow
There is a way to solve that? maybe render only the bad frames with the same configuration to match the sequence? thats possible?
                  Thanks again!

Yeah, as a workaround you could render only a couple of frames of the animation. We have already prepared an easier UI for selecting the frame range for the next update, but in 1.5.3 you will have to use the red and green trim controls on the timeline to limit the animation to the desired range: https://docs.chaos.com/display/LAV/A...ditor-Timeline

So if frame #58 is wrong, render 57 & 58 and discard 57. Note that 57 will be a bit different because it is the first frame of the rendered sequence and it will not have motion information. So you should use a separate folder to save these frames to avoid overwriting the original #57.

Thanks a lot! Nikola! I think Vantage is the way for medium quality animations. I'm a old user (since vray 1.5 i had a dongle ) I'm really exited with vantage, for me is a game changer.
I'm olso user of anima axyz (i will upgrade anima all today -black friday-) if i render it in 3dsmax via live link, it will work?

                        Hi Victor,

Rendering anima through Live Link will work but there is a bug where every few frames the model glitches. We are investigating it but cannot give an ETA.

                        Best regards,
