"Failed to compact geometry" means that you ran out of GPU memory while the geometry gets optimized on the GPU. It makes sense because usually this is the moment of peak GPU memory usage.

I haven't seen this exact Cosmos error before. Are there other Cosmos error earlier in the log? Does Cosmos work?

      hi..thanks for ur fast answer.
I understanf the GPU memory problem, but what is strange, sometimes it crashes the scene, only a dark environment, sometimes it totally freeze my computer without pther choice than cut power off, i have tested it on 2 computers, with same GTX 2070 super.
Oe my friend was able to render it on a 3050, whicjh has same vram, right ?
Before buy a new card i want to be sure.
No problem any more with Cosmos.
      thanks for ur help.
      Best regards
      Erick

Your operating system (Windows uses GPU for some desktop effects) and other software like 3ds Max etc. use some GPU memory, so if the scene uses close to the maximum available memory, it could sometimes work "out of luck". Vantage tries to avoid loading a scene if it can determine that it will not fit into GPU memory - a dialog may pop up (unless you disable the "safe gpu allocations" option). But this mechanism is not very precise and sometimes it will try to load and still run out of memory.

If it's not too much trouble, can you send us the scene in question ?
It might help us optimize the loading process.

Also, can you try loading the scene with "Safe GPU allocations" disabled in the Preferences.
When this option is OFF, Vantage will attempt to allocate more GPU memory than is budgeted for it by the OS and sometimes this might work.
