  • Live link disconnected with 3ds max during rendering animation with chaos vantage

    Hi,

This problem keeps on appearing during my animation rendering using the live link to vantage.
After 5 - 7 frames 3dmax suddenly disconnected to vantage and the rendering in vantage will freeze until I hit the abort button.

Does anybody have the same problem?

    Hi farouq_ariffin,

We need a little more info - which version of Max, V-Ray and Vantage are you using? Does this problem happen on that specific scene or is it persistent across other projects? Is the scene heavy and does it have forest pack or is it simple? We haven't experienced such an issue.

    Best regards,
    Alexander

      Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the prompt reply, I'm using 3dmax 2019 and vantage 1.8.1. This problem happens almost in every scene and yes I'm using forest pack for some background trees.

The attached image shows the same thing that happens for a very simple scene and uses only 3.55g of VRAM. I have tried to save the file and the render output image in a different location and the problem still happening.

        Could you share the file C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\ 2019 - 64bit\ENU\scripts\VRayToVantageLog.log ?
It gets overwritten every time so you have to copy it right after the issue occurs.

Thanks. The error seems to be from pressing the Abort button. It looked like the connection was interrupted before that from your screenshot because the viewport outline was green, not blue. It's hard to tell what happened if we can't reproduce it here
