  • Chaos Vantage SketchUp Vray Proxy Integration

    Hello,

I am encountering issues in scenes where Vray Proxy vegetation is displaying as a solid purple color in larger complex scenes.
However, in independant files, they seem to translate fine.

In the attached image, a scene originaly set up for Enscape but using custom made trees from Speedtree. Cross billboard proxies generated by Transmuttr by Lindale linking to full geometries for both Enscape and Vray. In a complete scene, these proxies are rendering as solid purple, as standalone, they render as expected the full geometries they link to.

    Please advise,

    Julie

Have you tried Vantage 1.8.1, is the issue present there ?

Yes, periodically for new releases, I have come back to Vantage to see if this issue goes away. Some of the assets are scattered using Skatter2.0 plugin for Sketchup, but the some trees are placed manually. So this problem exists for both scenarios in a large complex scene. The inability to render bespoken assets stopped me from considering Choas Vantage as the real-time solution for SketchUp as it is neccessary from time to time to develope specific foliage vegetation not available in Enscapr or Vray Cosmos library.

I would add, this only happens with proxies, if I import custom full geometries, it loads as expected in Vantage.

Can you send us (to support or to the e-mail in my signature) a sample SketchUp scene that shows the issue ?

Thanks Julie for sending us the scene to investigate.

The issue was caused by the SketchUp Purge option wiping V-Ray materials data from V-Ray Proxy Assets, which resulted in black models in V-Ray render and purple ones in Vantage.

We generally advise to use the V-Ray native Purge tool if needed: please see the article for more information.
