  • ObjectID, MtlID, or Multimatte Render Elements EXR Export?

Trying to assign any of these to render elements and then in vantage rendering a high quality image to EXR format.
Then import/open this in PS with this plugin: https://www.exr-io.com

I can get some elements elements to open in PS, but I can't seem to isolate the rest separately.
I'm only trying to separate some objects from another so I can tweak them in post.

Is any of this possible? Should I try a different EXR import plugin for PS?

    Thanks!

are you initiating the render from within max, or directly in vantage menu using high quality render?

Essentially it ignores your id assignments in max with object and material id and just does a global version including ALL objects and ALL materials

For multimatte, thats a bit of a pain as you have to re-assign the ids directly in vantage when adding multimatte to the render element selection in vantage then add your IDs there

Hopefully down the line they can make cryptomatte work...

Thanks for the reply. Not entirely sure what you mean.
Modeling in Max and sending it over live to Vantage.
If I use high-quality, it does some elements but doesn't appear to work with Max render elements.

MaterialID and ObjID are pretty huge. Just didn't know if I had done something wrong but it appears it may not be implemented.
I saw a feature request from quite a while ago.

Don't think that feature has been implemented yet...
