  • Issues with rendering Vantage

    Hi,

I'm having problems getting high quality renders even though I have increase samples from my new PC. Current spec is Nvidia A5000. On screen its looks perfect but when render it feel like it is not rendering the final pass.

The PC I was using during summer I was using 3d max 2023 with vantage 1.8.1 PC spec Nvidia 2060TI with no issues rendering high quality renders. I have attached below renders of my old PC left side and New render right side with the same settings? is this a bug?

    Thanks

This looks strange. We will need some additional information:
    - Is this a screenshot or the result written by a "high quality render"? The right side looks like what the "Vantage" interactive denoiser outputs, but this denoiser is never used for offline rendering.
    - Are you still using Vantage 1.8.1 or a different version? What is the nvidia driver version?
    - Which denoiser options are checked in the render dialog?

Check the debug log (Help->Open debug log) for errors and warnings. They are color coded and there is also a filter button at the bottom.

      Thank you for your reply.

They are both renders from vantage. but from different PC
I was using 1.8.1 on the old PC. I installed 8.3 but when rendering I notice it was completely different quality to my previous renders so reverted back to 1.8.1 as I would assume the settings are the same.
Unchecking Denoiser on Render Setup isn't an option as every time I uncheck the Vantage would it crash and close down.

Hm, yes, as I suspected the NVIDIA AI denoiser is not working. Our recommended minimum driver is 466 with support for this denoiser. But A5000 is a new card, so your driver has to be newer than that to support the GPU itself. Maybe the driver is partially broken. Try reinstalling it or updating to the latest driver.
