how can you do a physically correct sun study, shadow study, light study with chaos vantage and export it as an animation? is there a video tutorial for this? or is a sun study function already included in chaos vantage, where you can define the location (long, lat coordinates) and datetime?

Hi dfk1976,

Yes, you can do a solar study within Chaos Vantage. You have to:

1. set the sun to be in animated geolocation mode
2. specify lat/long coordinates(including North offset if the scene is not orientated properly)
3. set the time the solar study should start - > set start frame
4. set the time the solar study should end - > set end frame
5. open the animation editor and modify the duration of the sun track(right-click>set duration)

thank you, and how do you set the exact north direction. is there a compass icon in the scene which is visible or do you have to use a degree number from the cad software?
