  • Chaos Vantage animation and plant's opacity map issues

    Hi all.
I have my animation scene in 3ds max with vegetation etc and start a direct link with Vantage. The scene opens perfectly in vantage. Plants seem in low resolution but clicking on the " enable/disable rendering of opacity maps " i can see them in HD with opacity maps working great . When I push the button in 3ds max to render my animation in VAntage and clicking on denoiser etc in the pop up window, the rendering starts but the final result is to have plants with no opacity map, like the files i attached. Any suggestion ? Do I have to relocate the texture paths somewhere? Thank you. Spiros ......PS - plants are from chaos, itoo & Lawbwerk and in the last image you can see that inside chaos vantage the plants render normaly with their opacity map. This issue is with all the opacity maps i have, either in plants or everything else when i render the movie

If you are not already in a live link when you hit the "render animation in Vantage" button in 3dsMax, a new live link connection will be established and the render settings will be reset to their defaults.
This includes the "enable opacity maps" option.
    You have two options:
    1. make sure that the live link is running (blue border around Vantage viewport) when you hit "render animation in Vantage".
    2. after enabling "opacity maps", save this as the default from Edit -> Save Scene Settings as Default.

Vladimir, thank you a lot. Absolutelly correct. I tried and works perfectly.
By the way...Vantage is a state of art. Helped me a lot in my workflow, either in the part of viewing what i am doing in the scene and in the render time. It's absolutelly fantastic.
Another question if possible. ( maybe my mistake also - Using Anima 5 people.) Rendering an animation ( already prepared in 3ds max ) in Vantage, Anima 5 people move correctly. If i export the scene with anima people to vantage and then use only vantage to make animation ( no direct link ) and placing cameras etc, theanima 5 people do not move. Is my mistake ?

No, it's not your mistake, in the official 1.8.4 release deforming meshes like the Anima people are not supported when loading a vrscene.
