  • Palm Tree issue

    Hi,

    Not sure if someone already noticed this or not. But I saw that the model of from Cosmos (from a scene in Max) PALM TREE 85-03 probably has some issue with the alpha in the leaves.
    Keeping Opacity Maps OFF you can see the leaves and ON (that it should be correct) the leaves are wrong.
    Please check the attachments.

    Hi Nicola. I have chaos vantage version 1.8.5
    I used the palm tree you said but I have no issues with alpha channel or else . Have a look to my pics. Maybe you need to check some settings ?

      I have this issue only in one scene...anyway. If use it from a directly it works normally.

          Thank you.
          It's weird because using LiveLink or vrscene from a new scene it works normally.
          So I suppose I have this problem only in my specific scene. I've attached a Vantage file if you want have a look.

                Thanks a lot for the scene.
                It seems there is an issue when exporting to vrscene/live link.

                The Wig and the Palm tree have materials with the same name.
                It seems this confuses the exporter when they are used inside a Chaos Scatter.
                So the palm tree incorrectly uses an opacity texture from the wig material.

                I've reported this to the V-Ray for 3dsMax team and they will take a look.

                    Newer V-Ray for 3dsMax builds make the texture/material names unique when importing Cosmos assets.
                    The scene that's not working was probably created with an older V-Ray for 3dsMax build.
