  • Live link exposure problem

    Hi guys,

Has anyone found this working strangely recently? I have a Vray physical camera setup under the sunny 16 rule, check Vray IPR shows a fine exposed camera in the viewport. I expected to see a properly exposure livelink in vantage but i'm getting a massively overexposed burnt image which I need to use exposure bias -6.000 to sort. Just wondering what's going on here?

Alongside this over the weekend I rendered an 1800 frame animation about 300 frames were rendered with substantial noise, these were re-rendered with the same settings and worked fine, it just seems to spin out sometimes.

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Hi, thanks for posting.

I am not sure if you mean the VFB or the viewport IPR?

What host application are you using (for example is it 3dsMax)?

vladimir_krastev, thanks for the reply. I mean the viewport IPR in 3smax, cpu version, shows perfectly exposed image, open livelink and i get a blown out exposure.

      cheers

I always find that, I thought they were meant to be the same once linked.

Hi, if you are using a exposure control in the 3ds Max's Environment tab you will have the difference you are describing. You can find related information in this article.
If you use a VRayPhysicalCamera with it's built in exposure you will have no issues.
