  • Livelink animation noise issues

    Hi all,

Anyone else getting noise problems with livelink rendering from 3dsmax? For me this issue has been there since the start of Vantage, I'd hoped it would of been sorted by Vantage 2.

I'm getting segments of the animation where the noise in the image starts to go of the cliff, see both images attached. The noise starts to get introduced in frame Route 06__01640.jpg and becomes drastic by frame Route 06__01645.jpg and then magically disappears on frame Route 06__01660.jpg.

As another side issue can we get the V-Ray log message to stay off (should an admin read this)? Whilst in livelink it keeps coming back on by itself.

    Thanks as always.

    Jason

Hi, thanks for posting. How do you send your animation for rendering in Vantage? Do you use the render animation with Chaos Vantage or the export as vrscene and render in Vantage button? Try to export the vrscene and render in Vantage and let us know how it goes.

Hi vladimir_krastev, up until Vantage 2 I only ever exported as a .vrscene and imported into Vantage as a standalone, this was reliable but a slight pain as it takes a long time to export (only way to get Anima people working properly).

Under Vantage 2 I was hoping to run livelink and rendering from inside 3dsmax, alas I have hit problems such as the one above and also some crashing, it's a shame as livelink is way quicker to process into Vantage as it's not doing all the deformable meshes at once (this takes a long time with 3200 frames).

What I've found is livelink with deformable meshes is far slower working method overall than the protracted standalone export.

      Thanks again,

      Jason
