  • Bitmap gif texture color map not rendering

I am converting a vray cpu scene to a scene suitable for vray vantage. Now I run into the problem that my .gif color maps don't work in vantage. If I make a jpeg of this, it's no problem for Vantage. It involves a lot of textures so I really hope that Vantage supports my .gif colormaps.

Hi, thanks for posting. Using a gif for animated texture is not ideal. A better approach is to export the video or gif to single images and use them trough the IFL Manager in 3ds Max to load a sequence. This way you will have better control on your frame rate and also Vantage supports it.

      Hi Vladimir,

Thnx for your reply, and sorry if i was not clear. But i don' t use the .gif for a animated texture. The .gif we load in the diffuse slot for the color of the material. But if i use the live link the log give me a warning that the texture is not supported in Vray GPU, standalone and cloud. Hope it is clear this way.

Hi, if an image file format is not supported in V-Ray then it will not be supported in Vantage as well. Both use the same vray.dll.
