  • Bump Map

I have a bump map on some water, and it looks excellent with CPU and GPU, but it doesn't exist in Vantage. What would cause this?

You will need to add more details to the post, a screenshot for the material node tree will help.
But as a quick guess, are you using stochastic tiling feature?, As that's not supported yet.

ID:	1199266 Thank you for the fast response. It is a simple water material with a noise in the bump map slot. Is the noise map the issue?

Yes, unfortunately noise in bump map isn't supported.
Refer to the official documentation for the full list of supported and not supported features :
        https://docs.chaos.com/display/LAV/3ds+Max#
As a work around I would bake /render the map and use it with vray bitmap, you might need to cheat a bit to hide the tiling.

Okay, thank you. I subdivided the geometry and added a noise modifier. It's just as good .

Now I have noticed the added screenshot I think That's would do it too especially for such a small scene where the extra poly count won't be an issue. I'm glad you sorted it out!

Plus, the benefit of geometry noise is that you can animate it and judge the speed of undulation better than with a procedural, when it comes to doing a nice
Vantage sequence of that interior, which could look good I think
