  • VrayTriplanarTex 'Use displaced Surface' has no effect

    Hello,
Thanks for the recent displacement update it is working well. I have come across an issue when using VrayTriplanarTex map and its setting 'Use displaced Surface'. When I toggle this setting it has no effect.

I want to turn this setting off so it uses the base geometry for the mapping otherwise I get really patchy texture and the continuity breaks with the more detail/displacement that I add

Can this be solved with Vantage?

    Thanks

    Hi rita_sobral,

We already have this issue logged in our system under LAV-1721. We need to implement support for the 'Use displaced surface' in order to look properly. The only possible workaround that I can think of at the moment is to to unwrap the objects that the material with the triplanar textures is applied to and bake the triplanar texture. It is not ideal because you will have to spend time unwrapping and then rebake every time you want to make a change to the texture(UV scale or blend , etc.) but it will work with displacement.

    Best regards,
