  • Strange reflection in 2.4

I don't know why these elements look like this. I already cheked normals, rebuild triangulation, I have deleted the whole geometry and rebuild and still it shows like that.
The original geometry comes from REVIT, and you can see that the glass on the side doesn't have that strange distortion.
I have created a simple box and still it shows like that.Click image for larger version

OK, I have an update on this, and it seems to be an issue with Vantage. The building comes from REVIT and is linked to 3D Max.
The building has a long multi sub-object for different elements and materials.
I detach some ondulated panels from the outside because we use displacement. But the material with the displacement is still on the same shared multi-sub material that is being used for the glass and doors (each one with its respective glass and aluminum material) .
As soon as I disable the displacement, all those strange reflections and distortions on the doors disappear.
I tested it again with other geometry. Two different objects, but both share the same multi-subobject material. If there is displacement in one of them, vantage will distort and any geometry that is using that multi sub object.

      Hi fco3d,

Glad you found what caused this but can you please send a sample scene so can see if there is something we can do or is this normal behavior.

      Best regards,
      Alexander
