  • Crashing accross multiple projects when producing High Quality Renders - LiveLink - "The GPU device Instance has been suspended

Hi, thanks in advance for looking at this.

This is a repeated problem across multiple projects, especially the big ones.

In Livelink - High quality rendering - after clicking Start it begins to process and then 10-20 seconds in it crashes.
Doesn't happen every time usualy on the 2nd or 3rd full render.
I close down everything else running on my machine, still procists
    RTX 4090
    8k Smaples 400 High
    Live-Link

The only way I can get it to go away is lower my setting, which is not an option.

Biggest furstration is I have been using Vantange for awhile now without a problem and all of a sudden this has become the norm.

Instaled 2.4 hoping the problem would go away but it didn't.

    Attached Minidumps

    Thanks!!

It looks like you're running out of GPU memory (btw do you have at least 64GB RAM?). The resolution is very high and this is eating around half of your VRAM but I guess you can't lower it. Would rendering from an exported vrscene file work for you? It would use less memory because you can close 3ds Max.

I have 128 GB of Ram. I guess I need to look into how to allocate more.
Honestly without Live-Link I probably wouldn't use Vantage (with Live-Link I use it daily, love it and have a hard time using standard bucket vray any more), we are back and forth to much with the clients, shooting off iterations getting realtime feedback, changing the model, updateing the forestpack/railpack items and such to want to deal with the hastle of exporting vrscene each time I wanted to render a full resolution image.
Thanks for your help I will look into where and how to adjust my VRAM allocation!

Clear out your temp folder and see if helps clear the cache. Usually works for me.
