  • Vantage having issues accessing some project Files

Hello Vantage Team... I'm running into issues with some if my Vantage project files. These are pretty large but they were working just fine last week. Issue 1. I can't fully open a project file... crashes Vantage due to lack of recourses. I clear my Temp folder... opens, not usable since it's so laggy then throws a resources dump. Now I opened a file that did work, but I get an error message that says, Empty scene hit OK and look at the error log. Both files were working fine. Only system change was updating driver to 560.7.

I'm working on a Dell Precision 7780, Win 11, RTX 4090 laptop gpu with 16gb vram.
    .vrscene file size: 1.6gb

Any thoughts on error message below? What can be causing this issue. Pretty important project that needs to be available for productio.

    Thanks,

    Vince

    I clear my Temp folder...
This shouldn't help at all. There is no point in doing it.

    Based on the log:
    - that's some insane amount of UV channels on your meshes.
    - you've run out of GPU memory while the ray intersection acceleration structures were getting compressed.
    - you've enabled "all lights", but there are too many and some shadow rays might be dropped resulting in artifacts.

Can you send us the scene for testing (vantage file, vrscene file, textures and any vrmesh files) ?

Only system change was updating driver to 560.7.
You can try going back to the previous driver and see if that helps.

Do you have "Safe GPU allocations" OFF ?
The message in the log is printed when they are ON.
But if you want to attempt to load a scene that doesn't fit in GPU memory, "Safe GPU allocations" should be OFF.

These are pretty large but they were working just fine last week
How much memory did they use when they did open ?

Not sure... All I did was to add a material that's it. Nothing different. Before I was able to work in Vantage and render a dozen images. I did run into some lock up issues during this time. But lowering resolution and samples usually did the trick. How do I share the files... the vrscene file alone is 1.6gb.

You can start a support ticket and they will give you further instructions.
Probably to upload it to some free file sharing service.
