  • GeoLocation - Corrections

    Hello,
When setting the Animated Geolocation Sun in Vantage Ive noticed that the GMT +/- settings cannot be used in combination with the Latitude and Longitude settings without issues.

For example, loading in a VRScene model geolocated to Vancouver, BC (GMT- and setting both the Longitude and Latitude coordinates, AND correcting the GMT to -8 ends up with the sun setting hours past sundown. I'm guessing its meant to be one or the other? If i set the Coordinates to Vancouver and the GMT +- to London time zone it is then accurate.

    Seems a little confusing...

Also thanks to version 2.5.2 for correcting the clipped settings... much easier to see whats going on now!

I tried with both Sofia and Vancouver and both worked perfectly. When I input the coordinates, timezone and enable DST, both had the sun right on the horizon at the time that websites say the sunrise is today.

      Hi NPG,

So on this occasion I have to put my hands up and note that I had not put the (-) sign in front of the Longitude figure for Vancouver which was throwing off the position.
Knew i should have paid more attention in Geography class...

Thanks for your feedback, it forced me to find the error in my setup!

      Issue closed.
