Hi everyone,
I would like to report an issue with version 2.5.2 of Vantage. In the rendering Device window, it is possible to select which GPU to use for rendering, but upon restarting Vantage, our selection is not applied and it always reverts to the default setting, "Automatic Selection," effectively ignoring our settings.
In my specific case, I have two GPUs, an RTX 3060 and an RTX 4070Ti. In all previous versions, I selected only the RTX 4070Ti for Vantage to achieve better performance, as I keep the RTX 3060 connected to three monitors as the system GPU and use the 4070Ti solely for Vantage calculations without any monitor connected. This way, I can have an excellent GPU for Vantage calculations and good desktop management for other applications with the 3060 at the same time.
Unfotunately, in Vantage version 2.5.2, this is not possible because by default, it automatically selects both cards, resulting in worse performance in Vantage (the 3060 becomes a bottleneck) and slower performance on other desktop applications. If I select the 4070Ti as I always have, upon the next restart, Vantage ignores my choice and reverts to the automatic default setting with both GPUs.
I have currently downgraded Vantage to the previous version, 2.5.1, where everything works fine. I hope this issue can be resolved in future releases.
