  • Animation playback in Live Link - (and Cameras in general)

    Vantage 2.6.1 - LiveLink

Forgive my bulntness but - the cameras are a bit of a mess at the moment.

Renaming cameras created in Vantage - either doesn't work or causes a crash
Animation playback - the camera jumps to a ridiculous focal length (extremely zoomed in) wheres as scrubbing through manually is fine.
Turning on layers in Max with camera on make sthem appear and disappear in the Vantage Camera Stack (this may be as designed)

It's almost impossible to organise cameras in a sensible fashion at the moment, which is fairly crucial.

It was fine a couple of versions ago.

We had to rework things under the hood related to cameras and we're still fixing the regressions this caused.

Any ideas on a timeline for a fix?

If anyone is having the same problem, a roll back to version 2.5.2 is my current work around.

I'm having the same issues with Cameras jumping to a dif focal length. Everything is fine when scrolling timeline but on playback and upon rendering it's just a mess. Surely there must be a quick fix for this. It's basically useless at the moment to try and render an animation.

We are preparing a few camera fixes for the next Vantage update, but we want to be sure that this specific one will not left unfixed/unresolved. So if possible, please prepare a simple .vrscene + vantage file where we can get this FOV issue.
Or if it happens always and any project, make a video recording on the steps how we can reproduce.

Does it help if you deactivate the camera from the Scene timeline:

Sorry, I was busy finishing up that project. My workaround was to export the Cameras from Vantage into Max and then render the animation from Max to Vantage. I will look at the scene timeline for any Camera info and deactivate if there is any. I'm not sure I can share the file as there is proprietary info involved.
