[QUOTE=tashko.zashev;n1223913]Hi and Happy new year!
First of all thank you for your new year wishes, happy new year to you.
I was upset to get an answer to my problem so late. even though this is an official forum.
The problematic feature works in vray 6 version, but something caught my attention, after saving the project and closing and opening it, the changes made are reset, is it correct to work this way. do we have to convert?

Yes, I see now, the Edited Instances when using V-Ray 6 in 3ds Max - can be rendered inside Vantage as seen in the Max Viewport - the new edited style. But the V-Ray 6 uses the old export method for scattered geometry, the one in V-Ray 7 is optimized and new. And we have to update Vantage to support it now. This is the reason why you see difference between V-Ray 6 and V-Ray 7 installed.
As for the changes "reset" for the scattered instance, this could be a separate issue. Can you share steps to reproduce or a sample scene file to try it here? You have a surface with scattered instances and you are making a custom edit style, then saving the 3ds max scene file > closing 3ds Max and open it again. The editing is lost, right? No Vantage involved here?

Actually the last problem I mentioned is not related to vantage, I just wondered if this is how this edit instances feature works.
Yes, this feature has been improved in vray 7 and it is very nice, I wish it will work smoothly for vantage as soon as possible.
also patterns do not work in vantage, for your information

Alright this is probably a V-Ray / 3dsMax related issue. The instance edit feature should be preserved after a max file save and it seems to work fine here in a quick tests. You can submit a ticket about this https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new with exact software versions installed and a sample max file, then we can try to replicate it here.
