  • sticky scale tool

When using scale tool it suddenly sticks to the mouse pointer and makes it impossible to enter more than one of the values.

What version are you using? We've seen this issue before but we can't reproduce it now. There was a fix in 2.5.2.

Now in version 2.6.2. I think I have also noticed this in earlier versions, yes. Could it possibly be mouse driver related? Razer synapse? Now that I think about it I have noticed similar behaviour in 3dsmax too - in slate material editor...

      My setup:
      AMD Ryzen 7950x
      NVIDIA RTX 4080 super oc
      128GB RAM

I don't know, I don't think we have this in the office. What UI element are you clicking or dragging when it gets stuck?

Just the mat/map elements sometimes sticks to the mouse pointer when I have moved them, so I have to hit escape several times or close the 3dsmax material editor to get out of it. Don't know if its a related but it sure has the same feel. I mean like if the left mouse button don't turn off when you release it.

I think your original post was about the scale tool in Vantage. But your last post seems to be about a similar issue in 3ds Max. I don't think Vantage could cause an issue with the Max UI.

I just started wondering if the sticky dialogue boxes is related to my mouse driver and not a specific vantage (scale tool) or 3dsmax issue (slate material editor). But I honestly dont know... But as you said there was a fix for this in v2.5.2... So my similar problem in 3dsmax might just be a coincident.

In theory, the window could "stick" if the mouse doesn't emit a "button released" event due to some hardware or software issue. In such case it may get unstuck if you try clicking again until it registers the event. This is just speculation.
