  • Memory issue when rendering in Vantage through Live link

    Good morning.

I have an issue with Vantage and not sure what is going on I haven't had this before.

When I live link into Vantage my memory shows 8.60Gb I am running a 4080 super with 16Gb. Scene is stable and if I move around it still shows 8.60gb, however when rendering the memory keeps rising and goes to 22Gb and then crushes MAX.

    I am using Vray7 and Vantage 6.2

I have used Vantage plenty and have never had this issue, any help would be great as I need to get this job out

    Thanks

It would be hard to guess which part of your scene uses so much memory. It should be textures or geometry. If possible, send your scene packed with all asset files in a new support ticket here: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

The resolution also uses some fixed amount of memory, which could be a lot more for final rendering, especially if many render elements are enabled. Also if you're rendering with DLSS 4x in interactive mode and with the Optix denoiser in offline mode, the interactive output buffers are 4x smaller due to upscaling.

Have you tried exporting the animation to a vrscene file and then using that instead of live link?
